About Us

On-time appointments without waiting. Individualized patient care.

Our goal is to deliver honest, ethical, and superior chiropractic care and nutrition services at a fair price to our community.

Our ideal patient is able to think outside the box – just a little – and see the great common-sense benefits of getting adjusted on a regular basis.

Those patients who come in with an open mind and a willingness to learn and to get well will do just that!

Jim Ruckel

Doctor of Chiropractic

As a proud native of Fort Wayne, I founded my chiropractic practice here in 1997 with a vision of serving the community I call home. Fort Wayne’s vibrant atmosphere and strong sense of community make it an ideal place to both live and practice.
Our Family Chiropractic Practice is built on the belief that holistic care can benefit every member of the family. By combining chiropractic techniques with Standard Process nutrition, we offer comprehensive wellness solutions that address the root causes of health issues, not just the symptoms.
My approach to healthcare is rooted in empowering patients to make informed decisions. I encourage our community to consider all available options when it comes to their health, rather than defaulting to conventional medical treatments. While traditional medicine certainly has its place, chiropractic care often provides effective, non-invasive alternatives to drugs and surgery, without the associated side effects.
I’m passionate about educating patients on the benefits of proactive, preventative care. By understanding your body’s needs and exploring natural healing methods, you can often avoid more invasive treatments down the line. Our practice is committed to partnering with you on your journey to optimal health, providing personalized care that aligns with your wellness goals.
Seeing families thrive and individuals reclaim their health through our care is the most rewarding aspect of my work. I invite you to experience the transformative power of chiropractic and nutritional therapy at our practice, where your well-being is our top priority.

Educational Background

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and subsequently earned my Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, the renowned institution recognized as the birthplace of chiropractic medicine over a century ago. My experience at Palmer College was transformative, instilling in me a deep appreciation for chiropractic’s fundamental philosophy: restoring the body’s nerve supply to facilitate natural healing processes.
With over 13 years of clinical experience, I’ve developed a patient-centered approach that emphasizes individualized care. Each new patient consultation begins with an open dialogue to understand their unique health goals and concerns. This initial conversation is followed by a comprehensive examination, including a computerized nervous system scan and, when clinically indicated, diagnostic imaging.

My practice philosophy is grounded in:

  1. Evidence-based treatment protocols
  2. Personalized care plans
  3. Efficient pain management
  4. Long-term health restoration
By combining advanced diagnostic techniques with targeted chiropractic interventions, I strive to provide effective, expeditious care that aligns with each patient’s specific needs and objectives.

Personal & Professional Health Philosophy

My approach to health is rooted in the principles of balance and moderation. Key aspects of my personal health regimen include:

  1. Regular chiropractic adjustments, a practice I’ve maintained since childhood
  2. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables (preferably organic), whole grains, and lean proteins
  3. Supplementation with high-quality, whole-food based vitamins to address nutritional gaps

As a healthcare provider and parent, I’ve made informed decisions regarding my family’s health care. This includes a carefully considered approach to pediatric care that emphasizes:

  • Natural immunity development
  • Chiropractic care for children
  • Nutritious diet, including extended breastfeeding when possible
  • Judicious use of medical interventions

While my family primarily relies on preventative care and alternative medicine, we recognize the value of conventional medicine in certain situations. Our healthcare approach is designed to promote optimal health while respecting individual choices and needs.

I encourage all patients to engage in open discussions about their health goals and to make informed decisions based on thorough research and professional guidance.

Family is The Heart of Every Home

My wife and I are both proud natives of Fort Wayne, having grown up just a few miles apart. For two decades, we even vacationed at the same lake without ever crossing paths.

It wasn’t until a relative from out of town introduced us during a 4th of July celebration that fate finally brought us together. We’ve been happily married since 2004 and are blessed with our wonderful daughter, Olivia.

Family time means everything to us, whether we’re biking around the neighborhood or walking our dog, Daisy, at the park. Traveling, especially to the lake and other destinations, is a big part of our lives, and we feel fortunate for the many adventures we’ve had.

When my wife needs some quiet time, she happily sends me off to my woodworking shop in the basement, where I can spend hours immersed in my projects.
